The Philosophers' Salon Reconvened
Leakey's Bookshop, Church St
Thursday 10th September 2009
As part of the Re-Imagining the Centre, Intersections research group at Newcastle University reconvened The Philosophers’ Salon (the original Salon was in March 2007 to discuss the suggested 'virtues' for Matt Baker's Three Virtues project). The aim of The Philosophers’ Salon Reconvened was to bring together a group of people involved in IOTA/Re-Imagining the Centre for a discussion on key issues raised by the project. This was an invitation only event - intended to be an occasion to reflect and freely express opinions about the project and its impact on Inverness.
Intersections is a newly established research group at Newcastle University. Their research focuses on art in the public sphere. Intersections is made up from an interdisciplinary group of academics who, through theoretical and practice-based work (for example artworks, interventions and installations), investigate the interaction between art and the public realm.
