Visual Arts & Wellbeing Residency at Nairn Primary Care Centre.

The residency’s main aim is for an artist to participate in Nairn Primary Care Centre’s innovative and unique Wellness Enhancement Learning (WEL) Programme, in order to develop a responsive site specific artwork for the buildings interior.

The residency is expected to start on the 19 September 2011 and last 3 months. During the first month the appointed artist must be available to participate in the WEL Programme on the following dates Mondays: 19 September, 26 September, 3 October and 10 October from 2-5pm at Nairn Community & Arts Centre.

Fee: £2,000 (over 3 months) including travel expenses/ accommodation, workshops, production materials and installation. Excludes VAT.

Deadline: Tuesday 6 September 2011, 5pm

The Visual Arts & Wellbeing Residency is a partnership between IOTA, (Inverness Old Town Art), The Highland Council and Nairn Town & County Hospital and Primary Care Centre (part of NHS Highland) and is funded by the Highland Arts Partnership through Creative Scotland’s Rural Innovation Fund (RIF). The RIF aims to support innovative, cross-agency working in rural areas; this project is part of a wider series of new arts commissions that relate to different aspects of Highland life and culture.
