Crown Wall

Some time ago, the Highland Council removed defective concrete cladding from the Crown Road Wall (below Stephen's Brae) and plans to replace it and improve the appearance of the wall were included in the City Centre Streetscape Programme.

More recently, the wall has been identified as an excellent opportunity for an unusual arts project and as such, the IOTA team have issued an invitation to artists, designers, makers, students, architects, community groups and schools to come up with inspiring ideas to turn the wall from an eyesore into a 'crowning glory'.

Due to financial uncertainty, the project had to be put on hold at the end of 2008.  However, it looks as if it will be resurrected in the near future...watch this space for more details!
